MANILA, Philippines – Exactis, a marketing company operating out of Palm Coast, Florida, has left personal information of about 340 million people and businesses exposed in a database on an accessible server to the public.
According to a Wired report, about two terabytes of data were exposed, and it appeared to include personal information on hundreds of millions of American adults, as well as millions of businesses.
The financial information and social security numbers did not appear to be part of the database, although a wide range of characteristics are part of the leak.
