An international team of researchers has discovered a new and dangerous vulnerability, called RAMpage, in all smartphones on the Android system, according to the official search report.
Experts have revealed that RAMpage is a variant of another vulnerability, known as Rowhammer, through which attackers can manipulate existing data in the memory of affected devices.
RAMpage exploits the vulnerabilities of the ION subsystem, the memory controller, appeared Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System. Although it mainly attacks Android system phones, the study's authors are sure that it could also affect iOS devices.
