Enrique Andrade González, chairman of the Temporary Voting Commission of Mexicans Residing Abroad, reports that the National Electoral Institute (INE) has received 98,854 votes from Mexicans abroad and that they will be counted in the election of today
The triple figure votes of compatriots settled in another country in 2006, which were 33,111, and duplicate those received in 2012 which were 40,961.
Andrade González reported that the votes received came from 106 countries, although 77% were sent from the United States.
"The votes we receive represent nearly 150% of those we received in 2012," he said. Regarding the vote of Mexicans abroad, although it recognizes that trust must be worked for the participation to be greater.
These votes were received and are protected in an INE warehouse located in Tláhuac, and as of this Sunday at 08:00 hours will be transferred under the custody of the army to the Tecnológico de Monterrey facilities, where after 18:00 hours will be counted.
