Only 1.14% of reported crimes are resolved: Zero impunity

Only 1.14 percent of crimes reported to Mexico's prosecutors make a judgment, according to the state of performance index of prosecutors and prosecutors, led by the Impunidad Cero organization and presented on Monday. in The Hard Note with Javier Risco.

Guillermo Zepeda Lecuona, a researcher from the same organization, pointed out that the bottleneck is the acquisition of justice.

According to the index, an ideal prosecutor's office should have 600 points, although Chihuahua, which is the best, only reaches 303 points.

Irene Arista points out that money is a necessary but not sufficient resource to have a good supply of justice in the country, so impunity has more to do with the patterns of procurement management in offices prosecutor, the training of staff of the same and the acquisition of justice in the States.

The index also indicates that, according to the Inegi Victimization Survey, Chihuahua is the state where the citizen takes the most time to report a crime and yet it is located at 85.70 minutes, while Guerrero records 212.06 minutes, while the average in Mexico is two hours.
