Cuadra García, former secretary of finance of Femat, arrested

Aguascalientes.- The former Secretary of State for Finance, Raúl Cuadra García, was arrested Friday in Nuevo Vallarta (Nayarit) by agents of the Attorney General of Aguascalientes, presumably responsible for the crime of embezzlement.

Cuadra García, treasurer of the administration of the former NAP governor Luis Armando Reynoso Femat (2004-2010), he was on the run since 2013.

The Attorney General, Jesus Figueroa Orteganoted that criminal proceedings against Reynoso Femat.

"We have a living trial against the former governor," he said.

Since 2013, the public prosecutor has accused Reynoso Femat of Embezzlement and abuse of the public service, to the detriment of the public heritage of the State, by the simulated acquisition of a tomograph and by the sale of land of the Institute of State housing (IVEA) at a price lower than its value.

State attorney explained that this Friday, investigators captured Raul Cuadra near a hotel in Nuevo Vallarta, where he was celebrating a family event.

He explained that the arrest warrant issued five years ago by a criminal court for the capture of the former head of the embezzlement crime aggravated by the National Housing Institute was used without violence.

He revealed that four search and capture operations had been executed in various entities, without success.

Once the goal is achieved, Cuadra García will be put at the disposal of Second Criminal Court to answer for the millionaire loss to the state finances.

Jesús Figueroa reserved the amount of the pecuniary damage, which must be specified by a judge, of several elements at the time of determining the amount of compensation for the damage.

Raúl Cuadra will remain at the Aguascalientes men's prison pending determination of his legal status.

The prosecutor said that the former finance minister could be released on bail.
