A legislator from Utah went to Las Vegas and tested marijuana for the first time, following a vote on a proposal to legalize the use of marijuana in its state.
Senator Jim Dabakis wanted to try cannabis before the vote, reported the KUTV television channel in Salt Lake City.
Dabakis opted for an edible gummy bear to take the test and said legislators should at least try marijuana before next month's vote.
Dabakis, a Democrat from Salt Lake City, said in a Facebook video recorded in front of a clinic that "it's not that bad".
"I would recommend it as a sweetie," he added. "It's half bitter."
Many lawmakers said that they did not support proposal 2, but others said they would support the medical cannabis proposal that is about to begin. to be discussed at a special session.
"I noticed Wednesday in the Senate that it would be the legislature that would have the last word on marijuana for medical purposes," said Mr. Dabakis.
Turning to other legislators, the senator said something was bothering him.
