Morena's coordinator in the Senate, Ricardo Monreal, will propose an initiative to increase the penalties for electoral crimes, such as irregular funding and the use of social programs.

The senator announced that he would present a reform amending the general law on electoral crime, resulting from the denunciations of the last day of elections before the prosecutor specialized in electoral crime (FEPADE) and facing the five electoral processes at the Inside the country. of the country next year.

With the reform, the penalties provided will increase the sentences imposed on certain crimes and aggravate some of their terms. In addition, those who suffer will not be able to easily access the benefits of freedom and conditional suspension of the process.

Sanctions for behavior involving changes to the Federal Register of Electors are increased, he said.

The initiative also proposes to define behaviors that are not currently in the law, or that are better defined and adapted to current needs for the protection of rights recognized by law, such as the maintenance of systems. used by the electoral authorities.

With respect to crimes committed by government officials, election officials and party officials, it is proposed to aggravate conduct that undermines the fairness of processes, as well as to consider sanctioning driving during inter-season periods.

It includes independent candidates belonging to active electoral crime subjects, as well as their officials, in the integration of a criminal offense that provides for the submission of apocryphal signatures to obtain their candidacies.

Monreal plans to create, in accordance with the agreements of the Federal Judicial Council, at least one supervisory court and one national prosecutor's office.
