Huixquilucan.- Up to 12 the number of Mexican municipalities affected by the 100% water supply cut, native Maintenance work in the Cutzamala system, then the municipality of Cuautitlan will be fueled by wells, said Alfredo Pérez Guzmán, head of the executive State Water Commission of Mexico (CMEA).
The 12 municipalities affected by the mega tribunal are: Toluca, Huixquilucan, Naucalpan, Atizapan of Zaragoza, Tlalnepantla, Nicolás Romero, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Tultitlan, Coacalco, Ecatepec, Tecámac and Nezahualcóyotl, reported commission.
In the State of Mexico, 3.6 million inhabitants of the 12 metropolitan municipalities will be deprived of water from 08:00 on Wednesday because of the works of the Cutzamala system, said Alfredo Pérez Guzmán, head of CMEA, who said 203 pipes would strengthen the water distribution in hospitals, fire stations and prisons.
Each family must establish its strategy of safe drinking water during these five days, since in areas affected by the cut, there will be no supply of pipes, said the municipal system authorities.
