Mexican skyscraper, the most innovative building in the world

Mexico City's Reforma Tower, designed by Mexican architect Benjamín Romano, has been recognized as the world's most innovative skyscraper by the International Highrise Award jury (IHA) 2018, announced today. organizers in a statement issued in Mexico City.
The jury members chose this building – for the first time a Mexican – from among more than 1,000 skyscrapers built around the world between 2016 and 2017, and Romano today received recognition, the only one in the world. one of the most prestigious of international architecture, in German city of Frankfurt.
As a first step, the German Museum of Architecture (DAM) presented 36 outstanding projects from 15 countries. An international jury of architects, structural engineers and real estate developers also selected the five finalists.
Regarding the final decision, the members of the jury felt that the Torre Reforma contributed to the urban fabric and the community and analyzed the concept of building, sculptural qualities or combination of uses, according to from the organization of the IHA.
On this basis, they eliminated the other four finalists from Thailand, Lebanon, China and Singapore.
The skyscraper, located in the emblematic Paseo de la Reforma of the capital, has a height of 246 meters. Its work was completed in 2016; it has become the tallest building in Mexico City and the second highest in the country.
