San Felipe, Guanajuato.- The women's basketball teams suffered a spectacular and fatal crash when the bus in which the athletes found themselves was hit by a caravan that invaded the opposite lane, severely affecting players in the municipalities of Celaya and Acámbaro, Guanajuato.
In the fatal accident, unfortunately, three people lost their lives and 18 others were injured, including a woman.
Among the people who lost their lives, there is the driver of the trailer and the father of one of the players.
The bus in which the young basketball players went went along the San Felipe-Silao highway, at the height of the locality of "La Lagunita", when she was hit by the heavy unit.
After the accident, both vehicles started to catch fire. Firefighters from Silao and San Felipe came to help.
The wounded are stable and out of danger.
The players were heading to San Luis Potosí where they would participate in a sponsored tournament by a telephone company.
