Bogotá.- Colombia recorded an inflation of 0.12% in October due to rising prices for housing and transport, the national statistics department reported on Saturday.
This figure was higher than the 0.11% expected by analysts in a recent Reuters poll, but lower than the 0.16% rise recorded in September. The October figure surpassed the 0.02% rate for the same month last year.
Consumer prices rose 2.75% between January and October, compared with 3.50% for the same period last year.
On the other hand, during the last 12 months, up to October, inflation has risen by 3.33%, lower than 4.05% for the same period in 2017.
This figure is in the target range set by the Central Bank for the whole of 2018, between 2 and 4%.
In October, housing prices rose 0.36%; transportation, 0.20%; those of health, 0.07% and those of clothing, 0.06%.
While education prices have not changed, food prices have dropped by 0.04%, communications by 0.05%, entertainment by 0.08%, and food by 0.05%. other expenses group of 0%, 09%.
Colombia recorded inflation of 4.09% in 2017, above the range set by the Central Bank.
