June 9.- Researchers at the University of East Anglia in England and Harvard University have shown that blueberries or blueberries may help reduce the risk of a cardiovascular event.

According to the study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, the daily intake of 150 grams of blueberries reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by 12% to 15%.

Senior researcher Aedin Cassidy explained that the benefits would be more particularly reflected in higher-risk groups, such as those with metabolic syndrome, hypertension, high blood sugar, excessive body fat around the waist, low levels of "good cholesterol" and high levels of triglycerides.

Cassidy also pointed out that lifestyle changes, even by making simple changes in dietary choices, can also help reduce risks, as well as many commonly prescribed medications in these cases.

The researcher recommended eating at least 75 grams of fruit a day to get results, as no benefits were seen in people consuming less than half a cup of blueberries.
