In the United States, a child was used as a "bridge" so that his peers would not get wet. Some of them have been suspended.

Brett Corbett, 14, appears in a video where a dozen students look at him and then lie face down on a torrent to allow a girl to walk and cross.

At first, Corbett told his mother that his friends had challenged him to swim in the little stream behind the school in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, United States. However, the video posted on social networks describes a campaign to support young people. A local boxer staged a protest in front of the school to show that Brett "is not alone".

Terri McEachern, interviewed by the Washington Post, said three students walked on her son. However, Brett commented nothing because he did not want to cause any problems to his teammates. "Children with disabilities are the greatest gift in the world, they do not see evil in anyone, they see the good of everyone," Terri added.

Some students were suspended for a day after the videos were released, a move deemed inappropriate by Terri. In protest, about 20 students from the same school missed classes due to the lack of a "stronger position" from the school in the face of such abuses, reports Cape Breton Post.
