New aircraft, born in Quebec, Canada, join Airbus. They were previously known as Bombersier Cseries (CS100 and CS300).

"Everyone at Airbus was waiting for this historic moment.Today, we are very excited to welcome the A220 into the Airbus family and we are honored to see it with the colors of Airbus for the first time, "said Guillaume Faury, President of Airbus Commercial Aircraft.

" I want to thank all the men and women of Bombardier and the supply chain who have worked hard in recent years to produce this fantastic aircraft. The A220 is now entering a new phase of its career with all Airbus resources to support it and gain commercial success worldwide. "

The A220 family includes two models, the A220-100 and the A220 -300, which were previously known as Bombardier's Cseries (CS100 and CS300).

The aircraft is optimized for the 100 to 150 seat market and is the perfect complement to the successful Airbus A320neo family.

Eric Schulz, commercial director of Airbus, added: "We are delighted to sell the A220, thanks in part to its technology that gives it a decisive advantage in a highly competitive market. I have received many positive comments from customers on the excellent experience of the passengers who flew in this aircraft, its reduced fuel consumption, its reduced weight and its quieter engines, all of which contribute to my optimism that I was not able to do anything. Airbus will make the A220 a great commercial success. "

Airbus presented the A220 aircraft at a ceremony held at its delivery center Henri-Ziegler, near Toulouse. There, the A220-300 arrived directly from the paint station, at 12:25 local time, with the new colors and the name of Airbus.
