driven by a strong performance of its petrochemical business.

Alfa, based in the northern industrial city of
Monterrey, reported a net profit of 3 thousand 587 million pesos
($ 180 million) between April and June 2018.

Its Alpek petrochemical unit, its most profitable activity in the
quarter, benefited from good margins in its production of
polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a high demand, and
price increase.

Alpek also contributed to a record operating stream
13 thousand 129 million pesos from the company, which was 36 percent
higher than the same quarter of 2017.
