AT & T Mexico recorded an operating loss of $ 267 million in the third quarter of the year, representing a decrease of 19.2% from the 224 million euros recorded for the year. the same period in 2017.

"The continued growth in the number of subscribers being offset by a larger depreciation," the company details the operating result in its quarterly report.

In terms of revenues, AT & T indicates that in Mexico, they amounted to 731 million dollars in the third quarter of 2018, a slight decrease of 0.7% compared to 736 million euros reached in the same quarter the previous year.

"Due to price competitiveness, which was partially offset by equipment revenue gains and a growth in the number of subscribers," said the company.

AT & T explained that service revenues decreased by $ 70 million compared to the third quarter of the previous fiscal year due to the closure of a wholesale business related to Nextel in the fourth quarter of 2017.

During the third quarter, AT & T added 73,000 postpaid subscribers and 802,000 prepaid subscribers to reach 17.3 million users in Mexico.

The company claims to be the most reliable voice and data network in the country. "AT & T's next-generation, high-speed 4G LTE network is the largest in North America and covers more than 400 million people and businesses, including nearly 100 million in Mexico."

He said he acquired 80 MHz of spectrum in the 2.5 GHz band, which "will be the key to the next generation of mobile technologies that will change the way consumers live, work and enjoy leisure in Mexico."

Figures from the Federal Telecommunications Institute (FTI) indicate that AT & T has acquired four blocks of spectrum in the 2.5 GHz band, whose total consideration is $ 1.4 billion, 101,000 288 pesos.

For its part, the operator of American origin indicates that, together with Kia Motors, it has extended its connected car strategy to connect its application MyKia +, "a platform that will give visibility to the system of follow-up that KIA will implement in its next releases, starting with KIA Forte 2019 "

At the conference with financial analysts, the company's executives assured that AT & T would be the first mobile operator to offer 5G technology in the US in the coming months and is expected to finish the year. year with coverage in 12 cities.
