MOSCOW.- The Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel will visit Russia from November 1, informed Sergei Kalashnikov, First Vice-President of the Council of the Russian Federation.
This announcement coincided with the statement that an exchange of visits between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American Donald Trump was being analyzed, but nothing concrete at the moment.
Kalashnikov announced the stay of the Cuban President coinciding with the declaration of the upper house of the Russian parliament that the United States should put an end to the commercial and economic blockade Cuba.
The statement was approved Wednesday by the Council of the Federation, an opportunity that was used to announce the visit of Diaz-Canel, who took office last April.
At the same time, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov revealed that US National Security Councilor John Bolton's visit to Moscow had been discussed during the exchange of visits between Putin and Trump.
Moscow is ready for these visits, said the spokesman quoted by the Russian news agency Itar Tass.
He said that although Trump's visit to Moscow and Putin's visit to Washington were at the negotiating table, no decision had been taken in particular.
Bolton was in Moscow earlier this week and notably explained the announcement of Washington's withdrawal from the medium and short-range nuclear weapons (INF) treaty.
For Bolton, this treaty excludes the new strategic reality of the world, where countries such as North Korea and China have joined as actors.
