Dependencies in the health sector claim that they are making every effort to prevent dengue, whose cases were very high in 2016, although in 2017 they were significantly reduced, compared to the year before.
Up to now in 2018, there has not been a single positive case of this disease in which corresponds to the number two health competence of the Ministry of Health in the state , covering the 12 municipalities of the Lagunera region
The head of this department, Jorge Hernández Reyes, said that 29 samples considered probable were taken but that 27 were negative and the results of the remaining two were pending .
In 2016, there were more than 900 cases registered by the Ministry of Health, while in 2017 they were over 370.
He pointed out that with the support of the municipal authorities , work has been carried out ra "very effective" in promoting preventive actions, control and fight against the insect that transmits this disease.
Such action is the campaign called "Clean Patio" in which the emphasis is on the importance of not storing objects that could accumulate rain water and, in turn , become breeding places for the insect "Aedes aegypti".
