Nibbling the nails of his fingers eventually caused a deadly sepsis in a British.

That's Ricky Kennedy, 57, who lives in Dumbarton, UK, according to RT News.

Kennedy said that in January of last year, he had no longer bitten the bill, which had earned him a light bulb.

Initially, the doctor had prescribed antibiotics for the inflammation, but a few days later he had been admitted to an emergency hospital because the infection had spread to the arms and in the chest.

According to the media, sepsis is also called "blood poisoning" and is a reaction to an infection when the immune system eventually triggers widespread inflammation.

The patient was surprised to find that the injury that he had caused while he was biting his nail had put him on the verge of dying because he had had this habit for many years.

"I had a lot of pain and I could not move in. I thought I had a heart attack and I really thought I was going to die," he said.

Kennedy spent several months at the medical center and, despite his release, he still suffers from the effects of the disease.
