E-commerce companies in Mexico may hold a seal of trust to ensure that they respect the proper use of personal data and international best practices, reported the Internet Association MX (AI MX).

The intention of this new initiative is to promote electronic commerce in the country, but not it's the first attempt that was made. In 2007, AI MX created a trusted seal for online stores called AMIPCI Seal of Trust, according to Enrique Culebro, president of the association.

This seal of trust will guarantee the consumer that the online store where you want to buy it exists, so you will know who you are giving your personal data to, said César Palleres, vice president of financial services of the AI ​​MX, at a conference.

Enrique Culebro pointed out that the new label was aimed at medium-sized companies Large companies that offer their products online can also receive a stamp if they wish.

In addition, this initiative will include legal and technological requirements and commitments for e-commerce operations with higher volumes.

AI MX, there are currently 300 online stores with the previous seal of AMIPCI. The association hopes to award 100 new stamps.
