The Government of El Salvador fears that US authorities decide to permanently separate separated children from their families on the southern border from EE, said Monday the director of the National Council for Children and Adolescents (CONNA), Zaira Navas.

"We are very concerned that the decision of the authorities could be that the child goes to foster families or initiates a process of permanent separation" in cases where it is established that "The family is not suitable for reunification," Navas said at a press conference at the Salvadorian Foreign Ministry.

Navas noted that CONNA gave "priority"

"The Salvadoran authorities must know with whom and where they will be destined for the international community, and a priority for us is to establish a communication with the US authorities and establish a coordinating mechanism, "said Navas

For his part, the Deputy Minister of the Salvadorans at the 39 Foreigner, Liduvina Magarín, explained that the authorities of the Office of Relocation of Refugees (ORR) are those who evaluate the parents who would receive these minors.

"We asked that this be as fast as possible," Magarín said. "Most children are still separated" and that "the suffering of separation, the feeling of abandonment has always affected them."

The official, who visited detention centers in three cities in Texas, United States. Between 24 and 27 June, he points out that of the 145 children separated from their parents, only "between 10 and 12 people were reunited".

In the United States, more than 2,300 children, mostly Mexican and Central American, have been separated from their parents since April this year following the implementation of the policy of " zero tolerance "developed by President Donald Trump.

On June 20, the US president signed a decree to end the practice of separation of families, so that parents and their children crossing the border without papers will be held indefinitely together in detention centers [19659004ThemigratorytensionprovokedbythispolicyhasgeneratednumerousdemonstrationsandmobilizationsthroughouttheNorthAmericancountrytosupportundocumentedmigrantsseekingtoentertheUnitedStatesfleeingpovertyandviolence
