Facebook has been confronted with a closer look at how independent companies are using data since news emerged in March that Cambridge Analytica inappropriately accessed user data.

In a blog, Chief Technology Officer Chris Bingham said that the company fully complies with the standards of social networking sites, including Twitter and Facebook, established to limit the way outside companies use their data.
He added that the company only collects data from publicly available social networks. He compared this to the use of data from Cambridge Analytica's private users
