Ford GT Carbon Series 2019

The Ford GT Carbon Series will soon burst onto the slopes thanks to the legendary Ford supercar and, unlike his racing brother, will want to be brought back home later. The new limited edition model reduces its weight to around 18 kg thanks to a large number of innovations, such as carbon fiber rims, a titanium exhaust, titanium wheel nuts and a hatchback polycarbonate with additional ventilation. Ford engineers have added enough equipment – air conditioning, radio and SYNC 3 – for customers who want to get on the circuit easily. But they wanted to keep the weight under control, so they left the cupholders and the driver's seat storage compartment.

The third special edition of the Ford GT incorporates more carbon fiber than any previous model, as well as optional highlight colors, to stand out on the starting line and express your desire to run. "The Ford GT Carbon Series will stand out on the road for its remarkable carbon fiber design and, on the circuit, for its stylish design," said Hermann Salenbauch, Global Director of Ford Performance. "This is another example of how we can offer exciting new versions of our Le Mans champion supercar so our customers can share this magical heritage."

The exterior features two carbon fiber strips in view with the A pillars and bottom panels of the matching body and carbon fiber wheels in glossy finish. The interior is equipped with footrests, air duct entrances and a center console in matt carbon fiber. Overall, the Carbon Series will be the GT with the most carbon fiber in sight to date. Users can choose from four optional highlight colors – silver, orange, red or blue – for the forwarders, center bar and brake calipers. The Carbon Series also features an exclusive seat design with silver stitching that replicates on the steering wheel, as well as clear anodized gearshift levers and an exclusive dashboard badge. "This is just another example of listening to our customers at Ford," says Lance Mosley, marketing manager for Ford Performance. "While the Ford GT Competition attracts racing enthusiasts, we found that more and more users were asking for more carbon fiber and kept air conditioning and radio in. So we developed the Carbon Series to meet these requests and offer a different appearance. "
