For the 2012 Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, five athletics disciplines will not be jeopardized, one of them being the 20-kilometer women's race, where Guadalupe González will participate. .

"The Odecabe regulation states that for a test to be legal it must be that there are at least five registered countries, and I understand that in tests where there is no such a minimum there are five and it will be necessary to follow up .I have already spoken with the president of the zone and we have to wait for the closing of the inscriptions to be able to determine, "said the president of the Mexican Federation of Athletics Associations (FMAA), Antonio Lozano.

The tests that would not be performed are: the walk of 20 kilometers of women and 50 kilometers of men, in addition to the disciplines of 10 thousand meters of women, three thousand female obstacles, and the men's marathon.

"I have already gone through this situation in the Central American Cartagena 2006, where the 50-kilometer test was not performed, and as a competitor, especially at this stage and the work to face this fair is almost over, "said Horacio Nava.

The head of mission of the Mexican delegation of the Central American Games, María José Alcalá, said that they still hoped that the test of Guadalupe González will be performed.

"Unfortunately, the test of Lupita González, who for us was a good candidate for the gold medal, but we are still in the fight to keep it," said Alcalá.
