Guillermo del Toro and Eugenio Derbez nominated for the Image Awards

In addition to the Mexicans, the Spanish actor Antonio Banderas is among the more than one hundred nominees at the Imagen Awards, who recognize the "positive representations and creative excellence" of Hispanics at Hollywood.

This Friday, Fundacin Imagen, who awards the awards, announced that the thirty-third gala of these awards will be held on August 25 in Los Angeles; will meet the recognized personalities in 18 categories in the film and television where they stand out, best film, best director, best actor or best actress.

Also, among the nominees for the best film are "The Shape of Water" and "Coco", as well as the directors of both films, Guillermo del Toro, in the first case, and Lee Unkrich and Adrin Molina, for the animated film Disney Pixar.

Also, in the sections of best performance in a film, Eugenio Derbez and Eva Longoria appear for their participation in the "remake" of "Overboard", nominated for the best film; also actresses Natalie Morales and Yvette Monreal and actors Andy Garca and Mel Rodrguez, among others.

Among the nominees for the best television actress are Alice Braga, Isabelle Gmez, Isabella Gmez, Justina Machado, Aubrey Plaza and Katie Stevens, while Antonio Banderas, EJ Bonilla, Joaquim de Almeida, Alfonso Herrera and Edgar Ramrez are a few -un candidates for the best TV actor.

In addition, some of the television programs that are in the short list of dramatic in prime time are "The Crossing", "Law & Order: SVU", "Queen of the South" and "Major Crimes", and in the case of comedies include "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", "Jane The Virgin", "Modern Family", "One Day to a Time" and "Superstore."

According to El Universal, in different editions of these awards, created in 1985 by "suggestion of veteran television producer Norman Lear," explained the organization. In addition, they have been recognized as Rita Moreno, Salma Hayek, John Leguizamo, Martin Sheen, Gina Rodriguez, Jenni Rivera and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
