The WhatsApp Gold app, supposedly a premium version of the messaging app, does not exist. The scam was revealed by the computer security company ESET
The message contains a link that, once opened, will attempt to defraud the unsuspecting.
What will happen if you download it? "The most common, especially if the phone has Android, is to steal all the data that is on the device," they reported from the company.
In the event that WhatsApp Gold has been installed, the company recommends uninstalling it using an antivirus to check what damage has occurred to the device.
