X-ray imaging has been, for over a century, an effective resource for establishing an accurate diagnosis of the condition of the bones and determining whether there was a crack or a fracture . The same is true for magnetic resonance scans, when more details and data are needed to determine a treatment.
However, a series of striking representations of parts of the human body in three dimensions and in color leaves behind details. to prior systems of color and three-dimensional X-ray images. The New Zealand Company
Mars Bioimaging has developed a technology that works the same way as the current X-ray equipment, but that provides a 3D and color representation.
How did it was possible to create this type of images? According to its creators, this prototype manages to interpret the changes that X waves have as they pass through the human body with a precision that can differentiate a bone, a muscle, a fat or liquids. Based on the software and the interpretation of this data, the Mars Bioimaging team can achieve this level of detail.
This development was possible thanks to
Medipix3 chip, which was developed at the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN) for use at the LHC Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland.
The creators of this technology expect this type of scanner to offer more information and resources. Doctors when analyzing a traditional diagnosis based on X-ray images, as in the detection of tumors, vascular or bone diseases.
