The Secretary of Public Security of Mexico City, Hiram Almeida Estrada resigned from this post.

By a statement, Almeida proudly declared his performance in this position, as well as the results obtained during his tenure in an institution "through which the work of the public service is offered to defend the public"

He mentioned as the last achievement of his administration the balance generated by more than 34,000 elements of the police during the electoral process, which contributed, he said, to our democracy

The capital government recently faced an upsurge of violence by organized crime, which was nevertheless denied by the boss of the capital, José Ramón Amieva who indicated that the latest clashes they have been the product of drug traffickers.

On June 20, as a result of a citizen complaint, a drug outlet was discovered, which resulted in a confrontation that caused two deaths. When the attackers noticed the presence of the police, they fled to the delegation of Tláhuac where another fight occurred in which two other criminals died and others were arrested.

According to information from Felipe Rodea.
