Villa de Allende, Mexico.- The 420 workers assigned to the maintenance of the Cutzamala system are in full swing, and even groups of welders have arrived to conclude the works this morning and open the gates that allow water to flow to the city and the state of Mexico.

Until Friday night, there was an 80% advance on line three, while one and two ended at 8:30 pm on Friday, informed the director general of the National Water Commission ( Conagua), Roberto Ramírez of the Parra.

"We have about 400 workers in this sector, since the first and the first two will finish, those who finish will go to the third".

He explained that at 8 o'clock in the morning, they would open the floodgates in order to drain the water stored in the tanks, which will feed the 13 town halls of Mexico City and 12 Mexican municipalities. About areas where water will come first, it depends on the agencies of both entities, but the proximity could be Huixquilucan and Cuajimalpa.

"We are still waiting to finish and open the keys at 8 am on Saturday morning (today), although we can finish a little earlier, we do not expect a duration longer than two hours. so hopefully the keys will be open at the scheduled time, "he said.

He explained that at 7:05 pm on Friday afternoon, the workers opened the floodgates of the Villa Victoria Dam, which takes five hours to reach the tanks located in the Berros treatment plant, which makes part of the Cutzamala system, Villa de Allende commune and, it takes two more hours to fill the tanks of fronts one and two.

"At 6 pm, the numbers one and two were 87% and the third one was 80% .With that, we expect to finish at 8:30 pm, which is why we open the Villa Victoria Dam that will feed the system at 7:05 pm", did he declare. He explained that at 8 pm on Friday, he had a piece left that he considered the most difficult because it had to fit perfectly.

He said that out of more than 400 workers, who would complete jobs one and two, will be called to support number three, they could also replace those who have been working for three days.

At 8 pm, another group of welders arrived and waited longer, to enter 10 welders in the missing tube and conclude in a shorter time than expected.
