The attack of the monkeys would have been caused by the increase in the aggressiveness of these animals after the destruction of their natural habitat due to urban expansion. So they had to move, said local activist Shravan Kumar Singh.

"The monkeys are everywhere in Agra," Singh said. "They are in the city's five railway stations, in hospitals, hotels and roads, they come in search of food, but they also attack."
