At Jakarta airport, relatives of the victims arrived at the crisis center to ask for information about the accident. The forensic agents informed them that they could help them identify their relatives if they provided medical and dental records.

In a televised speech, Indonesian President Joko Widodo presented his condolences to the families of the victims of the plane crash. He said his government was focused on the search and rescue operation.
