From July 2, the verification of vehicles will resume in the capital of the country, informed the Secretariat of the Environment (Sedema) of Mexico.
In a press release, Sedema informed that the new CDMX audit centers have state-of-the-art technology as well as an infrastructure focused on sustainability and monitoring of the verification procedure , to prevent and combat corruption and to improve the attention to the population.
He explained that the procedure for checking the vehicle is:
- Generating an Appointment: The vehicle will be checked by appointment only. People who go to a verification center without this requirement will not be able to perform this procedure. - Activate the Vehicle Check Center 15 minutes prior to your appointment.
- Submit documentation to Sedema's centralized vehicle verification system will assign a random check line in which the OBD system and / or the emissions test will be read.
- If the affected line has equipment for mechanical physical inspection, this test will be performed. This test is NOT a reason for rejection or determines the hologram that your vehicle will get.
- Based on the vehicle emissions, the corresponding hologram will be assigned.
It is important to note that the cost of verification is 524 pesos, and that the mechanical physical test is not determinant for obtaining the certificate of verification or hologram of a vehicle.

Asimismo, vehicle owners who do not perform the verification in the CDMX during the period corresponding to their hologram, they will be entitled to a penalty of one thousand 612 pesos, for the concept of extemporaneous verification.
When payment is made, 30 business days will be granted to complete the verification. In case of not doing so, the fine must be paid again for twice its value, and so on.
