The Municipality of Guanajuato of Acámbaro is ready to receive at least 20 thousand people at its bakery fair, which will take place from 9 to 11 July.

The tradition, now 112 years old, will have the participation of 12 bakeries and more than 500 assistants, who will prepare more than 150 thousand pieces.

The loaves are given to the visitors under what is called the "rain of bread", a celebration with which the bakers thank the Virgen del Refugio, patron of Acámbaro.

Fernando Olivera Rocha , Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, said that this is the result of "500 families who made bread Acámbaro a gastronomic attraction, and with that they contributed to the economic development of the entity" .

The "Rain of the Bread", a parade where the bakers throw breads to participants, will take place on July 11 from the Temple of Saint Ecce Hommo to the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi.

Gerardo Javier Alcántar Saucedo, Municipal President of Acámbaro, informed that, as part of the activities, will be held the game of the 'Popular Lottery Acámbaro', '100 Acambarenses Dijeron &', # 39; and the "Regional Bread Contest", where local and foreign bakeries participate.
