GUADALAJARA (Notimex) .- In addition to prostate and colon tumors, lung cancer is one of the oncological ailments that mainly affect the male.
"Due to smoking, there is a higher prevalence among men, however, every day there are more women smokers and they start to match the statistics," says Rubén Santoyo Ayala, specialist in pneumology and medicine
Worldwide, 234,000 new cases of lung cancer are diagnosed each year, more than 121,000 of which occur in men, says the doctor, one in four deaths from cancer is attributable to a tumor. "In fact, it is said that there are more people dying of lung cancer than prostate, colon and breast cancer in women."

It is important that smokers stop as soon as possible to limit damage to their health, because complications can occur even when they have been discontinued years ago.
