Marina secures 800 kilograms of cocaine off the coast of Acapulco

ACAPULCO.- The Secretariat of the Mexican Navy and Navy (Semar) announced Monday having made available to a smaller vessel that was carrying 800 kilograms of cocaine, about 80 nautical miles (148 kilometers) northeast of Acapulco Warrior

According to the agency, the insurance was made on Saturday evening, when a ship with a suspicious cargo was detected and that its crew, noting the presence of the armada, went to the mainland to altitude of the city of El Calvario, in the municipality of Petatlán, where they managed to escape.

With this in mind, the personnel assigned to the Eighth Naval Region based in Acapulco, managed to secure the Reformeña-type boat with two high-power outboards, carrying 19 packages and a parcel with cocaine, as well as 42 fuel drums of 50 liters, of which 19 full, 22 half empty and one void.

It was pointed out that the illegal cargo and the fuel and the ship had been made available to the authorities to determine the ministerial weight, carry out the tests indicated and integrate the corresponding investigation file.
