Sao Paulo . The Brazilian state-owned company Petrobras announced Tuesday that it was suspending sales of some of its assets following the ruling of the Superior Court of Justice that privatization processes must be approved by the National Congress [19659002]. Petrobras refining is suspended until further disclosure, following a precautionary decision by the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Minister Ricardo Lewandowski, the oil company reported in a relevant event.
The company reiterated that the processes include the sale of 60% of the Landulpho Alves refineries (RLAM) in Bahia and Abreu and Lima (RNEST) to Pernambuco, in addition to refineries Alberto Pasqualini (REFAP) in Rio Grande do Sul and President Getúlio Vargas (REPAR) State of Paraná
The process could occur through the creation of subsidiaries and the disposal of their shares, including transport and logistics assets.
In a note to the regulator, Petrobras announced that, while assessing the legal actions to be taken, he decided to suspend the sale of its refineries, the Gas Transportadora Associada and the fertilizer plant Araucaria.
] The company also stated that it assesses "adequate measures in favor of its interests and those of its investors".
