Post Call for Red Trunk

Telecommunication from Mexico (Telecomm) reported that the call for the International Public Competition was published to develop the Central Network project through a public-private partnership (PPP) contract.

In a statement from Telecomm, an entity dependent on the Ministry of Communications and Transportation said that the international public call for tender was announced on the CompraNet platform and in The official website of the Agency

They explained that after all the studies, analyzes and consultations were conducted in accordance with the regulations on public-private partnerships, the federal law on economic competition, the Ministry of Finance and Credit public and the Federal Institute of Telecommunications, has been that this call has been published.

They specified that this Telecomm will contribute to the association is the use and access to its pairs of fiber optic wires placed in the high and medium voltage network of the transport network of 39 Electricity from the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).

The extension of said infrastructure is over 25 thousand kilometers (Km) fiber already installed and can be used almost immediately.

The objective of the Red Trunk Project is to bring fiber optics to the population so that at least 80% of them are within a maximum distance of 35 km from the site. Point of presence (POP).
