River Plate: 50 fans arrested for incidents with fake tickets

Buenos Aires, Argentina (AFP) –

A group of Supporters of River Plate tried to enter without valid tickets in the match that the millionaires played Saturday afternoon against Students of La Plata Super League Argentina, during incidents that ended with a balance of 50 inmates.

Although in most matches first division Argentine football does not allow the entry of visiting fans. For this meeting, the students donated 6,000 seats to River.

The problems started a few minutes before the match, when several groups of supporters tried enter the stadium without tickets or with false entries, which caused the first passages with the police.

At the time of the meeting, it was decided close the stadium doors for having understood that the visiting tribune was overflowing with capacity, before the demonstration of several fans of River who could not enter, even with the good entrance in hand.

The incidents continued with violent clashes that the police repressed with tear gas and rubber bullets, while fans of the river who were inside the stadium sang against the Argentine president Mauricio Macri.

The incidents happened just a day after Macri assured that the final of the Libertadores Cup enter Boca and the river could be done with the presence of visiting admirers, which has been questioned by the presidents of the two clubs, Daniel Angelici and Rodolfo D'Onofrio, who prefer to play the two finals only with local fans in bleachers.

The owner of Agency for the prevention of violence in sport, announced in statements on the radio that 50 people had been arrested for these incidents, the vast majority for attempting to enter the field without a ticket or with other previous meetings locations.
