An hour and a half lasted a confrontation between Army soldiers and gunmen in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas yesterday.
The confrontation reached the commercial area Paseo Reforma, where the fire caused panic among the people passing through the square. Guests who were inside the area's restaurants and businesses had to lie down on the ground to find shelter.
A company bus National Land Links was also in the middle of the shooting, the driver was injured, but managed to escape and arrive in Monterrey with the passengers free.
The PGR drew the investigation into the shooting, since everything indicates that it was a direct attack on two of its Special Prosecutor's Officers for the people disappeared escorted by the army. These officers left Nuevo Laredo after spending several days in the municipality conducting research into the disappearances of people in which the navy would be involved, which the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights denounced on 30 may.
