Shooting outside the school in Kansas leaves two wounded

OVERLAND PARK – Authorities arrested a suspect in a shooting that injured seriously injured two subcontracted workers in a school ] suburban primary of Kansas City.

Overland Park Fire Department spokesman Jason Rhodes reports that the man was arrested in a house where they found a stolen sports car after shooting at the elementary school of Sunrise Point.

The suspect fired on two colleagues when they installed synthetic turf in the school yard.
There were no students present at the time of the shooting.

Rhodes explained that when the police approached the property with armored vehicles, the suspect fired through the back door and was shot. His name has not been revealed.

Chief of Police Frank Donchez stated that the house belonged to the owner of the stolen vehicle. He added that it is unclear what prompted the suspect to go to this house and he described it as "strange"

Becky Miller, spokesman for the district, reported that there were no students on campus. Overland Park said in a tweet that there were no school employees involved. and that the suspect ran away and tried to kidnap someone in a car wash and then stole another vehicle under the threat of a firearm.
