SNTE recovers works of art valued at 3 mmdp

The National Union of Education Workers the SNTE announced that they have recovered 17 works of art that were under the protection of the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic . These works of art were purchased when Elba Esther Gordillo was at the head of union with union members' money, so the SNTE had to check the property to recover them.

The salvaged pieces have a value about 3 billion pesos and will be exhibited at the Centro Cultural del México Contemporáneo for the next school year

17 works of great value cultural, historical and artistic among which 5 Works from the 21 panels painted by the muralist Diego Riverta at the New Workers School of New York in 1933, sketches for the good government of the University of Chilpancingo, as well as works by Francisco Toledo, Pedro Coronel and Gabriel Orozco

Marco Antonio del Toro Teacher Elba's lawyer Esther Gordillo spoke about it. The lawyer assured that these works were not recovered because Elba Esther Gordillo had already made them available to the SNTE but that they did not want to receive them.

Antonio del Toro explained that these 17 works were acquired as part of the project to create the city. of knowledge, a project that was approved by the Congress of the Union before the arrest of Elba Esther Gordillo
