South America and Russia help Renault reach a new sales record

The French car manufacturer Renault reported Monday that its sales increased from 9.8% in the first half and reached a record thanks to the surge in the markets South and Russia and strong demand in Europe.

Renault also improved its overall projection of the growth of the automotive market to 3% by 2.5%, after reporting that during the period ended June 30, 2, 07 million deliveries have been delivered.

The French manufacturer has reiterated its promise that sales will increase further in 2018, driven by the updating of certain models such as the Duster .

Sales in Europe rose 4.4% to 1.07 million units in the first half, outpacing the 2.8% overall market expansion.

The increase in sales has exceeded 15% in the Eurasia region, including Russia, and 18% in Latin America.

Renault doubled its growth forecast in the Brazilian market to 10%, and raised the European outlook to 1.5%, compared with 1%.

On the other hand, India and South Korea were its weaknesses countries where sales fell 19 and 25% respectively in these markets.

In Iran, sales plummeted by 10.3% because of the likelihood of new American sanctions against that country.
