Super Mario Run Mario's first mobile game that debuted in December 2016 on mobile devices, has surpassed 60 million revenue in the App Store and Google Play, according to a report by The SensorTower Firm

According to the report, 77% of the revenue generated by Super Mario Run comes from the App Store, a platform where the game was available 6 months earlier than Google Play . He also notes that during the first quarter of 2018, the business turnover grew by 35% on Android.

SensotTower also explains that the majority of Super Mario Run revenues come from American players, 43% of them made online purchases, while only 17% of users in Japan have been spending on the application.

Finally, he mentions that, of all Nintendo's mobile games, Super Mario Run ranked third in earnings last month, behind Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Fire Heroes Emblem .

Talking about these comparisons, you must keep in mind that the income of Super Mario Run is still behind Fire Emblem Heroes mobile title that has generated nearly 300 $ MDD in its first year, according to information released in February this year. Not to mention Pokémon GO app that in its first 12 months added 1.1 MMDD

While some might think that 60 MDD is a good sum, the fact is that Super Mario Run could be considered a failure since it is a title of Mario. The main face of Nintendo, and basically the video game industry, has had better results at Switch, where Super Mario Odyssey has already sold more than 10 million fewer copies 5 months.

Doubt, Nintendo will continue to bet on the mobile market. The company plans to launch a game of Mario Kart called Mario Kart Tour which will have a free monetization system. Although there is still no specific release date, we know that it will be available before March 31, 2019.
