At a press conference, the ophthalmologist Fernando Peniche said that the condition can be chronic and even cause blindness in extreme cases.

Factors such as age contribute to dry eye, it is also recurrent in postmenopausal women or in people with pre-existing diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, hepatitis C and diabetes. that the use of mobile devices and air conditioning make the eyes dry, especially in the new generations. In the case of the use of tablets, mobile phones and game consoles, it is recommended to rest the eyes off, and if it is an adult population, use lubricating drops.

The specialist in refractive surgery mentions that if this syndrome is detected the time that the treatment may last for a few months, but if it is already chronic a lubricant formula is required.
