Mexico City – The National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services (Condusef) has ordered Banco Inbursa – whose family of Carlos Slim owns about 57% of Inbursa's shares, according to his last annual report, the deletion of 26 unfair terms identified in an equal number of deposit contracts

The agency said in a statement that, under the supervision mandate, it began to impose the corresponding fines for these practices.

In addition, he called on financial services clients to visit the microsite of unfair terms and to identify, where appropriate, the abusive guidelines that help them file the relevant complaint.

He recalled that it is considered abusive this clause which according to the provisions of general nature in the matter, allows institutions to withhold the user's resources as a result of a debit provided that this clause does not clearly specify the duration and amount of the tax or the corresponding withholding.

She clarified that an abusive clause differs from the "indemnification clause" established in the provisions of the Banco de México (Banxico), given that this is not considered abusive as long as the term and amount for which the respective charges will be made are established to provide greater certainty to the user.
