The IACHR asks to avoid acts that incite violence on election day

The Ibero-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) calls on all protagonists of this Sunday's election day to provide an environment that allows all Mexican citizens to vote in an environment of civility, harmony and democracy.

Dr. Víctor Hugo Gutiérrez Yáñez, Commissioner of the Agency for Latin America and the Caribbean in Mexico, said that it was necessary to avoid confrontations and acts inciting to violence, since the country is in a process of definition for the advancement of democracy.

"The IACHR insists to reject any act of intimidation or violence anywhere, and to avoid at all costs the action that allows to speculate on acts of electoral fraud. , respecting the will of Mexican citizens is a principle that has to do with a human right to decide independently and without influence or pressure. "

The commissioner of the IACHR pointed out that citizens are called to a democratic party in which respect, certainty and civility must prevail for the good of Mexico and its inhabitants.
