Veracruz; Juan Carlos Huerta Gutiérrez, May 15 at Villahermosa, Tabasco; Héctor González, May 29th in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas,
María del Sol Cruz Jarquín, on June 2nd in Juchitán, Oaxaca; and José Guadalupe Chan Dzib, on June 29 at Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo
were murdered, while Agustín Silva disappeared on January 21 in Matías Romero, Oaxaca.
In 2017 at least 12 were killed journalists.
