They denounce the attacks against the victims of the earthquake in Tlalpan

CITY OF MEXICO.- The organization Damnificados Unidos which is integrated by the inhabitants of Multifamilia Tlalpan affected by the earthquake of last September, denounces physical aggression against their spokespersons, then to reach agreements for the reconstruction of their houses.

"We hold the Government of Mexico responsible for the integrity of each of the members of the Tlalpan Multifamily District Assembly and the Damnificados United States of Mexico City to ensure the security integral of those who were attacked, "they said.

They explained that at a weekly meeting to evaluate the process of reconstruction and reinforcement of buildings on Thursday evening, the participants were intimate, filmed, threatened and physically and verbally assaulted by a group of people who did not attend the meeting. .

During the meeting, direct threats were made against Francia Gutiérrez and Israel Ballesteros (who act as spokespersons for the organization) and representatives of the Assembly of the Multiflily of Tlalpan, forcing however the conclusion of the work. the provocations increased by participating against Ballesteros.

"For us, it is very clear that these facts are part of a strategy to intimidate our representatives and we warn that we will not accept any act that threatens the physical and emotional integrity of one of the companions of the assembly ". .

They considered that the aggression against Israel Ballesteros, which had resulted in facial injuries, was due to an attempt to intimidate his contribution to the struggle of victims by the right to housing and as an attempt to distract recent progress and assured that it will not stop their efforts to recover their homes.
