A study revealed that blood pressure could be a risk factor for developing Alzheimer's disease .

This disease, which is the most common type of dementia, is progressive because it begins with a slight loss of memory and even affects people's language and thinking ability for their daily activities . .

The first symptoms usually appear after the age of 60, but young people can also develop them, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention .

Research conducted by specialists at the Rush Memory Clinic, led by Dr. Zoe Arvanitakis, analyzed the blood pressure of more than 1,300 people aged 59 to 102 years.
