Matamoros, Tamaulipas.- The Outpatient Center for the Prevention and Treatment of AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (Capasits) will offer rapid tests for the arrival of migrants from Central America to this border; said the director of the health sector unit, Carlos Alberto Carrillo Garza.
He also stated that syphilis and sexually transmitted diseases, since the rates of these diseases, and especially HIV, are higher in Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, while rates are in Mexico in the half of the cases.
Because of the above, in these caravans of Central American migrants, there may be people who want to diagnose and remember that these tests are at the patient's request, voluntary and confidential.
He mentioned that they would fulfill the function of offering and would watch the people who decided to make them.
On the other hand, he stated that a few weeks ago, when nationals of Cuba, Africa and abroad visited the migrant's home, they intervened with people who came to Mexico with treatment and migrated from across the Atlantic Ocean. it was South America.
In this sense, Carrillo Garza pointed out that Mexico has a rule that governs us and where we have the obligation to offer the drug to anyone, provided that their immigration stay is standardized and legal in the next 60 or 90 days.
